Grantees and subrecipients often acquire or improve real estate, equipment, supplies, and other property under their Federal awards and subawards. The OMB's recently updated Uniform Guidance contains detailed rules for managing this grant-funded property. These rules cover several distinct types of property but, unfortunately, the rules can be difficult to understand. During this webinar, we will clarify the Uniform Guidance's rules for each type of property and explain how to apply them.

The Federal government's rules for grants management recognize that the government should fairly share in recipients' and subrecipients' costs associated with performing grants and subawards. However, many organizations struggle with recovering the full costs of administering their awards and subawards. This two-hour webinar will explain how grant-funded entities can maximize their indirect cost recoveries. By participating, you will learn about the de minimis indirect cost rate, negotiated indirect cost rates, and cost allocation. You will also gain a better understanding of the differences between direct and indirect costs. This session will also discuss recent developments affecting recovery of indirect costs and what they mean for grant-funded entities moving forward. After attending, you will be able to identify at least three strategies for recovering your organization's indirect costs.
The Office of Management and Budget's revised Uniform Guidance requires grant-funded entities to maintain adequate documentation showing compliance with grant terms and conditions. This also includes specific recordkeeping requirements. In fact, the Uniform Guidance has rules covering recordkeeping, retention, access, and destruction. During the webinar, you will explore recordkeeping and retention in detail, including the following topics:
